The original cheese slicer invented by Thor Bjørklund in 1925. Bjørklund was a carpenter by profession. He constructed the cheese slicer because of irritation at how difficult it was to cut cheese with a knife. The planers are produced in Lillehammer, and have been for more than 80 years.
